Grace Learning Center

Grace Hopper was an exceptional individual. Always curious and determined to understand how things worked, Grace disassembled seven alarm clocks to uncover their inner workings!

At Grace Learning Center, students work alongside senior citizens in classrooms in nursing homes to create an enchanting partnership that has proven effective.

We offer a variety of programs.

At Children of Tomorrow Academy, we aim to create a safe and loving environment for children and their families. Our caregivers diligently foster each child’s spiritual, social, emotional, and physical growth while offering stimulating and entertaining educational activities. With small class sizes led by dedicated teachers providing individualized attention, we create an ideal learning experience. Furthermore, communication between staff members is encouraged for a nurturing learning experience for every child in attendance – we pride ourselves on being known for excellence in early childhood education!

At GCLC, we provide childcare for toddlers through pre-K children using the Pinnacle Curriculum to teach them various skills and concepts. The center also hosts weekly chapel services, music time, and Bible lessons; our goal is to help every child understand their place in this world through Christian principles.

School-age students benefit from homework assistance, healthy snacks, field trips, camps, and playground and gymnasium playspaces where children can run freely and exercise safely. We offer after-school tutoring for academic support or acceleration needs; those diagnosed with disabilities may qualify for classroom accommodations through the Learning Center.

Citizens Concerned for the Homeless understands that clients without basic life skills and education may become mired in a cycle of homelessness, criminal thinking, substance abuse, and dependency. We offer classes, workshops, and self-help meetings to break this cycle and empower individuals to make positive changes.

We are licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Ohio Department of Job and Family Services issues licenses to childcare programs receiving publicly-funded childcare funding and mandates that they participate in its Step Up To Quality program to promote quality programs that exceed licensing, health, and safety requirements. If any center cannot safely operate at its licensed location, they must request temporary provision at another site from ODJFS in writing.

We are certified through Ohio’s Step Up To Quality program.

Ohio offers a quality rating and improvement program called Step Up to Quality that recognizes programs that meet specific quality benchmarks beyond licensing standards. Through this system, programs may earn between one to five-star ratings from this system as well as support or awards to help them increase their quality.

This program is mandatory for ECE and school-age childcare providers who receive state funding. It aims to assist families in their search for high-quality childcare programs by using a national research-based system that identifies standards that lead to children’s learning and development.

Ohio’s rating system for childcare centers mandates their participation to access state funding, making this a daunting process. The YWCA Child Care Resource and Referral can offer one-on-one coaching for preschools and child care programs needing state certification, including preparing required documentation, developing professional development plans, room arrangements, and lesson planning services as required.

Franklin County residents have found great success using this program to pass kindergarten readiness tests, yet Senate President Matt Huffman of Lima says it is forcing good child care centers out of business and wants to decrease the amount of hoops child care facilities must pass through so they can accept public assistance children as well.

We are a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Grace Learning Center is a non-profit Christian school with a Board of Directors comprised of Xenia Grace Lutheran Church members. All preschool and prekindergarten teachers hold bachelor’s degrees in elementary or early childhood education. Class sizes provide an intimate yet inclusive learning environment while offering individual attention and instruction as needed.
