Theme

Scooby Doo’s birthday party ideas that stand out include decorating in the style of its show. A garage or outdoor area should create an eerie, mysterious vibe for children to play outside; masks, cobwebs, and other decorations can add that final touch of mystery; hanging sheets or blankets over this area creates a cave effect that your kids will love!

Food options could include cupcakes, cookies, and candy for guests to snack on. Or you could make a chocolate cake and decorate it with pink frosting, add edible ears of various shades, and then serve sandwiches, chips, and candy to guests as refreshments.

This Scooby-Doo-themed cake would make an excellent centerpiece for any girl’s Scooby-Doo-themed birthday celebration! Crafted out of half-sheet cake material and then flat iced in white buttercream, its top features an eye-catching 3D Mystery Machine complete with layers of gold foil for decoration, as well as two smaller toppers for cupcakes or cakes.

Make your event extra fun by having guests dress as Scooby-Doo characters for your party. Girls could wear blue headbands in honor of Daphne and black glasses to represent Velma. Kids could receive yellow and blue construction paper diamond shapes with “SD” written across them to wear as part of a ribbon bow and join the mystery-solving gang!

For a scarier Halloween experience, why not set up a haunted house? With many haunted house games and activities online and easy-to-make mazes with spider webs and decorations like spider webs to set an ominous atmosphere, creating one can make for a great photo op!

Play this enjoyable icebreaker with your children before the party: record some sounds from the show, then ask them at the party where they heard them from! Additionally, the kids could tie-dye their shirts to match the theme!

Colors

Create an unforgettable Scooby Doo birthday cake using blue, yellow, green, red, purple, and white frosting colors – chocolate base required – then layer each color icing for an eye-catching 3-dimensional effect. Gold and silver piping gel add extra shine, or for something truly memorable, create your customized fondant topper with one of the characters from the show!

Create a spider web for kids to walk through at your party. Choose an area and set up long pieces of black yarn string in rows; at the start of your party, each child will get one end of this yarn, and at some point, they must untangle their web to find their ghost balloon containing a surprise prize!

Make your Scooby Doo pinata even more extraordinary by creating the Mystery Machine from an old refrigerator box! Cut out two rectangles from it for windows. Paint it lime green and write “Mystery Machine” with funky orange letters; once dry, add stickers of Scooby-Doo and his or her initials with “Doo.”

Create an unforgettable dessert table for guests with this Scooby Doo-themed party recipe:

Start your event right with a tiered cupcake stand decorated with dog bone-shaped cookies and plenty of candy jars stocked with your favorite sweet treats, two-tiered cakes featuring our beloved Scooby-Doo characters, as well as some delicious treats like ice cream to top it all off.

Make sure guests leave your party with something ghoulish and fun by giving each of them a Scooby Doo-themed favor bag to take home. Use a brown lunch sack, cardstock, and marker to craft an attractive bag based on Velma’s catchphrase of “Jeepers!” Fill it with snacks from Scooby-Doo snacks, such as cookies and crackers, before adding labels with Velma’s slogan “Jeepers!” Also, consider including hand soap, Scooby Gummies, Crayons, and coloring books that tie back in with Velma!

Size

Solve mysteries ghost by ghost with this cake featuring the Mystery Machine van and all your favorite characters from the famous cartoon show! Spooky eyes, bats, 70’s colored flowers & more await your delight!

Scooby Doo cakes were created using half sheets iced with white buttercream and then painted green using food-grade coloring sprays. An outline of Scooby was drawn using an icing-filled bag fitted with size #5 round-tip icing bags; his nose was constructed out of pieces cut from his design.

We served this cake complete with Scooby Gummies, T-shirts, and crayons as a surprise for the kids – it was an enormous hit!
